Accessibility Statement

Last updated 25 August 2026.

Our commitment

This site is built to be usable by the widest possible audience, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, and magnification. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

What this site does

Specific measures we have built in to meet that commitment:

  • Semantic landmarks and a single, correctly ordered heading structure on every page
  • A skip to content link as the first focusable element
  • Visible focus styles on every interactive element, never removed without replacement
  • Text alternatives on every meaningful image, and empty alt text only on decoration
  • Body text at a contrast ratio above 4.5 to 1, and interface elements above 3 to 1, checked against the actual palette rather than assumed
  • A mobile menu that is keyboard operable and traps focus while it is open
  • Interactive targets at least 24 pixels, and most at 44
  • Animation and transitions disabled for readers who set a reduced motion preference
  • Video that is not autoplayed, and audio with standard, keyboard operable controls

Known gaps

The campaign video is hosted on YouTube. Captions on it are the responsibility of the video producers, and we are asking for a captioned version. The audio recording on the Evidence page does not yet have a transcript. Both are being worked on, and if either is a barrier for you now, write to us and we will send you the content in another form.

Report a barrier

If something on this site prevents you from reading it, tell us what page and what happened and we will fix it. Email media@westportthreatensaukus.org or telephone +61 8 9335 0500.
